healthy therapy

Healthy living, complementary and alternative therapies

Healthy living

Our healthy living programme is designed to help you raise and maintain your level of fitness and improve your general wellbeing. We use a variety of approaches to promote strength, suppleness and stamina including sport, diet, dance, Yoga, Tai Chi, stress-reduction and complementary therapies.

Most of our courses are suitable for men and women of all ages. As everyone is different, we have organised the programme into ability levels to allow you to choose the correct course for you. Whichever class you join, you will be taught in a structured manner in a relaxed, friendly and fun atmosphere.

You will be part of a group and work independently although there may be some physical contact with other students within the class.

You need to complete a confidential health questionnaire before you start one of our practical courses. This is your opportunity to raise any concerns or issues about your current condition with your tutor, who will then be better able to monitor your progress and ensure you get the best from your course.

If you have any serious concerns about your health or ability to engage in physical activities or have not exercised for some time, we strongly recommend you seek the advice of your doctor before enrolling. Please note we are not able to offer medical advice.

Beauty, massage and complementary therapies

These courses can be taken just for interest or could be the springboard to a new career! We offer a countywide programme with qualified and experienced tutors who will ensure that you gain maximum benefits from whichever course you choose.

If you want to just give it a try or find out a bit more, a day taster or short course will enable you to learn basic practical techniques, which are safe and effective for use with your family and friends.

If you are thinking of an occupation or a career change we have a variety of accredited International Therapies Examinations Council (ITEC) courses giving you the opportunity to work towards becoming a qualified, professional therapist.
